Love from Skye, in Broadford on the picturesque Isle of Skye, was created by locals Bryony Grant and Paul Matthews to offer contemporary and traditional jewellery and gifts made by local and Scottish designers.
Both Bryony and Paul have many years of experience in the jewellery industry having worked for a company which previously operated from the same premises for several years, Bryony in retail and Paul as a jeweller.
Bryony first began working with jewellery at the age of just 14 when she got her first Saturday job which lead to many years of employment with the company and to studying with the National Association of Goldsmiths. She then took a break from working in the jewellery industry to study fashion design at Edinburgh College of Art, but found herself back on Skye and working with jewellery once again after graduating.
Paul’s interest in jewellery began at an even younger age when, as a very young boy, he went into the original jewellers to ask if he could hold a real piece of gold! He continued to go in on a weekly basis to see what the jeweller was creating and was then employed as soon as he was old enough! He was trained on the job and has now been creating his own jewellery and undertaking commission and repair work for many years. (The jewellery for sale on this site is made by Paul in his onsite workshop unless otherwise stated.)
Nearly 15 years after first meeting at work Bryony and Paul decided to set up their own business and opened Love from Skye in December 2013.
